Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Loving the old Brewery stand shots. Always stood opposite on terrace amazed at the frequency of fags being lit as the gloom descended and the old Oakwell Ales signage began to peek through the John Smiths paint job.
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Not only a shot of the West Stand Bogs, but it shows the even more legendary Glory Hole.
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Cracking set of current photo's. The old one's don't half bring back some memories. A real football ground from the days when men were men and wingers **** themselves waiting for the first tackle!
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi I hope those green bins aren't from council,it took me 6 months to get one.
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi I know, as nice as the ground is now it would be great if we could magically have the old ground back for one big game. Quiz question - without cheating, which was the last match we played in front of a crowd of 20k+ before we started redeveloping the ground?
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Possibly Sheff Wed early 90's ?
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi I think I'd agree with that. A 1-1 draw in October 1990.
would like a copy of that second last photo the one of the west stand with the glorious pink/red sky. that's a beauty.
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Carlton Palmer diving header in the final minutes?
Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Close. That was the last league match, but we had over 22k a couple of months later for an FA Cup third round game at home to Leeds in the blustery wind. Mel Sterland scored and then ran the length of the brewery stand patting his belly (he had been getting some stick over the size of it!) only for John Deehan to catch the ball a few minutes later and volley in whilst the Leeds players were shouting for the handball. Then the replay...George Courtney...John McLelland...enough said!

Re: Take a look at this photographic feature on Oakwell from my favourite footy websi Yup, that's the one.
