It came almost straight after he had run the full length of the pitch to get Anderson sent off. The Ponty were all shouting at Morgan and telling him where to go. He then ran back to his own position and the next challenge he makes he elbows Hume with such force that he fractures his skull. We all know how hot headed Morgan can be and we all saw that he was fired up after the sending off incident. Did he intentionally aim to injure Hume? I think the only person who didn't think this was the referee. He bottled it (which seems to be a theme over the years for decisions against us!), because he had just sent two players off and presumably thought that another sending off would descend the game into some sort of farce. But don't worry, because he managed that himself with the penalty decision. In any other walk of life Morgan would be up before the police with what appears to be a pre-meditated assault. But unlike other cases this incident was caught on camera. I feel it must be brought up and the authorities should investigate it, because it needs stamping out. The FA always hide behind the fact that the referee had made his judgement on the incident, so they cannot investigate any further. So are they trying to tell us that if a player, to take an extreme example, jumped on another player's throat and put him in intensive care, but the referee just gave a yellow card, that they wouldn't question the judgement of the referee and investigate it? Of course not. So they can and will investigate incidents further, no matter what the referee chose to do. It's just a question of whether they want to.
If it had been a premiership match it would be all over the papers and ssn, pressure would be brought on the authorities to act upon it,end of.As its only little old Barnsley nowt will happen, total injustice!
