Anyone remember it? To be honest, i don't know how come we ended up being put in their main end but it must have been a complete embarassment for them. Imagine the police housing the away support in the Ponty?
Yes 1978/79, er we didn't 'take it' we were allocated it. Their real hooligan types used to run amuck on the big terrace.
I'm glad things have changed !!

Many moons ago, the Ponty end was used at times for away fans, split right down the middle for certain games.
Well I've been going to the well since 1967 ...... ..... and never seen that. The only time it happened, as far as I know, was v Aston Villa, late 60's, early 70's and that was cos they got in early, not cos they were allocated half of the stand
I can recall Grimsby in the Ponty.... 1977/78 league game - about 30 of them got in from the Brewery Stand (some were wielding sticks) about 45 minutes before the kick off. With regards the Cowshed i actually thought we were allocated that end too. I can remember a few missiles being thrown over the back wall whilst we were being held back after the game because their lot were peeved off..... and yes; much better these days.
