Talk in't boozer over the weekend............Andy Ritchie

We know Andy Ritchie is a nice guy
But these are some comments from some of the guys from the local boozer
Ritchie is too close to the players i.e. like Hendrie was
Ritchie has not got the respect from the players
Ritchie would have got the sack if TARN had lost in Cardiff
It was a crap league and we were lucky to get out of it
If Ritchie dosen't get good players in during the next 2 months and TARN struggle up to Christmas.......Ritchie will be sacked and if Mick McCarthy is available at this time then McCarthy will be brought in
Bets were being made that McCarthy is in for this time next season

The fact that people are even having this conversation when Ritchie got us promoted and got our team to show more fight than any Barnsley team in years is completely bizarre.

I hope he's here for the long haul. You only want him replaced so that you can have a crap manager in charge, just so you have more to complain about.

Ritchie has not got the respect of the players??? Proper laughing....think you've mistaken Ritchie for the previous 4 or 5 managers back to Bassett. </p>

Crap league...lucky to get out of it??? Oh, so we got out of it then, yeah??? Anyone would have thought we'd finished 18th or something. The fact we got out of the league is all that matters, even though Ritchie stated that a top half finish was the aim this season.</p>

Must say though that I agreed with most that were said
I am not 100% convinced with Andy Ritchie........I hope I'm wrong
Although after watching Andy Ritchie interviews you get a better feel and understanding of what type of manager he is.......ie. stay calm (while all around you are losing their heads) and focus on the job
Whether he is able to motivate the players.........I don't know........but those penaties were something else and showed a definate amount of steel and determination from the players

In a nut shell.......what I, and what I have heard many others say - the jury is still out regarding Andy Ritchie...
