He was at a Snooker tournament with some Barnsley lads so he went to the match with them.
He couldn't believe how we didn't put Blackpool out of it with our first half dominance and how our dominance never really created many chances.
He thought Blackpool were the worst team he'd seen in along time.
He was impressed with loanee Harris though acknowled he had too many touches and could 've got his shots away earlier.
We reminded him of his team in that we only play for 45 mins.
Complimented our support (numbers and vocally)
He did say it was boring and too predictable though.

We see it, opposition fans see it, neutral fans see that our approach is preventing a talented team from winning games more regularly. Why Johnson can't see it is a mystery, and an even greater mystery is if he can see it but isn't doing anything about it.

Who says Lee cant see it ???..........its still early days.............I think certain things are not happening in the team and because of that LJ is keeping things tight for the time being.

After watching the Bradfud v Blunts match on Sunday..........we aint got nowt to fear in this league

But do you think Johnson is actually telling the players 'pass sideways' 'don't shoot too often' 'don't bother crossing the halfway line' ???

I find that hard to believe. It might just be that the players were being naive thinking 'we don't need to be too penetrative, we won't concede'

I might be wrong but I just find it incredibly hard to think that Johnson would explicitly tell the players not to attack much. Same goes for all our games

To be fair, this is 1 neutral observer commenting on 1 game. I wasn't there so only know what I've heard and read. Just thought I'd share it that's all.

Well if he isn't, then he should do something about it.

Listening to his interview after the game I think he did see it. Seeing it and rectifying it are different things though.

Of course he should and I'm sure he's trying. I think we'll get it right eventually but on any day he cannot physically control want players do no matter how ,any tactics he's put in place or what he's done in training

Then he should not be manager !!
Can you imagine saying that about Mourinho or Fergie ? Or even someone like Graham Talor ?

Re: Talking to a Hudds Town fan today at work. He went to watch us at Blackpool on Se

So you're suggesting he should be able to control what every single one of our players does in the game? Some things are just out of his control and professional players do not need to be told the basics but sometimes they get them wrong

And I can imagine that. Are you suggesting Fergie told Cantona to Kung-fu kick a crystal palace fan?

No I am suggesting that Fergie would have dropped them if they didnt do what they were told, or even sold them , like he did with Beckham.
If a manager cannot make the players play to his plan / tactics then he is not up to the job. He is only 5 yards away from the pitch , he should be able to get his orders across from there !

Re: Talking to a Hudds Town fan today at work. He went to watch us at Blackpool on Se

If a manager wasn't happy with players disobeying him you'd also think he'd make substitutions wouldn't you yet against chesterfield we were dead and buried when he made his 3rd sub with just 7 minutes left, in the botefest against Bradford he didn't bother trying to win instead opting to use just 67% of his allowed sub's (putting it like that shows just how daft it is), against Shrewsbury we lost using only 2 subs and at Blackpool he only brought his second sub on with a minute to go.

If he truly wasn't happy with individual performances then why the hell would he sit in the dugout with a row of sub's behind him and make zero attempt to replace the underperforming players. In no other job would a manager do that and keep his job

Re: Talking to a Hudds Town fan today at work. He went to watch us at Blackpool on Se

I'm not suggesting for a minute that it should be acceptable for managers not to get their point across. All my original point made was our 'boring' style of play may not all be able to be put down to the manager and by that I mean players may be naive in their own style of play, or just have an off day.

Games against Swindon and Everton have proved that we can be attacking and good to watch, but it may be the inconsistency of the players and manager meaning we don't play like that every game

And Johnson has dropped out of form players such as Wilkinson and sold players who he doesn't think are up to the job like Berry

The conclusion is then that Johnson must be perfectly happy with the performances of the current players as he leaves them on the pitch with sub's on the bench

Re: Talking to a Hudds Town fan today at work. He went to watch us at Blackpool on Se

So you think he should lose his job?

He clearly doesn't think that many players are underperforming, that's why he doesn't make the subs. Or he thinks the subs cannot change the game.

There's no sort of rule that you need to make 3 subs. And you're making it sounds like making subs guarantees you to win the game. What's the point of making subs for making subs' sake?

You could argue that against Shrewsbury the subs we made lost us the game as we were overrun in midfield. That's the risk he took but that could have happened in any of the games you've mentioned: the opposite or the desired effect

Re: Talking to a Hudds Town fan today at work. He went to watch us at Blackpool on Se

Yet he never takes Pearson off, even when we need to change things around, like the other week when he brought on another striker, we took off our best 2 attacking midfielders ( who had been our best 2 players that day ) and kept both the defensive midfielders on, then wondered why we didnt make it pay putting on the extra striker ! If a player is not doing what he is told to do, bring him off, obviously Pearson is doing what he is told so he stays on .

Yes I know, I was thinking of the Shrewsbury match where he should have gone off, instead of Crowley or Houriane. I got that wrong I am sorry ! :p
