    TALKSPORT have released their schedule for the opening day of the 2006-2007 Championship and Football League season on Saturday 5th August.

    Andy Townsend returns to talkSPORT on Friday 4th August on The Game alongside Mike Parry but is back on The Weekend Sports Breakfast from Saturday 5th August for the beginning of the 2006-2007 Championship and Football League season. Townsend and Parry build-up to the opening day fixtures, plus they provide all the morning sports headlines and phone-in in discussion with listeners.

    From 12:00pm, Adrian Durham is joined by Alvin Martin and Jason Cundy for Football First with full coverage of the opening day of the 2006-2007 Championship and Football League season, including updates and reports from Luton v Leicester at 12:30pm. From 3:00pm, talkSPORT’s team of reporters will be at Barnsley v Cardiff, Birmingham v Colchester, Burnley v QPR, Ipswich v Crystal Palace, Leeds v Norwich, Plymouth v Wolves, Preston v Sheffield Wednesday, Southend v Stoke and West Bromwich Albion v Hull.

    Following the conclusion of the matches, Patrick Kinghorn return for The Final Whistle on talkSPORT from 5:00pm-8:00pm with the ultimate post-match football phone-in with anaylsis, debate and phone-in discussion on the opening day of the 2006-2007 season alongside former Newcastle, Portsmouth and Coventry forward Micky Quinn.

    The full schedule for Saturday 5th August on talkSPORT is as follows:

    1:00am Charlie Wolf 6:00am Fisherman's Blues with Keith Arthur 8:00am The Sports Breakfast with Andy Townsend & Mike Parry 12:00pm Football First with Adrian Durham, Alvin Martin & Jason Cundy 5:00pm The Final Whistle with Patrick Kinghorn & Micky Quinn 8:00pm George Galloway 10:00pm-1:00am Mike Dickin.

    Meanwhile, Nigel Pearson and Micky Quinn will be in for Adrian Durham and Rodney Marsh on The Game from Monday 31st July between 4:00pm-7:00pm. In addition, Gabriele Marcotti will be alongside Rhodri Williams on The Game on Monday 24th July rather than Mike Parry as was originally scheduled.
