i used to use it regulaly for take out, but have only used it once since the big opening although the food was up tp its usual excellant standard they had nearly doubled the price (for the take away) but it looked to be good value for a sitty downer
Its pretty decent, went in a couple of week back, its not far off akbars quality at rotherham on food quality, simlar in price as well. Interior is great, theyve really spent some money on the place. Someone did mention that the takeaway was the same price as eating in and people ringing for their usual were canceling which is a shame cos I rated it before, once they get the take away prices sorted, I think it will establish itself as the no1 in barnsley.
eyup poet, one of lads went other day and asked for a chicken bunna (or however u spell it), he says it was the hottest curry hes ever had and hes had the vindaloo many of times. there was bones in it and the waiters were very unfriendly, get to the Dil Raj (or however u spell it) up Dodworth supposed to be quality, ano its a bit for you to go like but be reyt, i've heard your made of money lol
Dil Raj ? lol Scored 0 out of 5 in recent hygiene report. Recomended not to eat at less than a 3. To score a big fat ZERO they must be making the food up in the bogs. /poo www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk
yep been there foods to die for plus my daughter works there, no discount tho :-( but can recomend it
Went for my birthday a couple of weeks ago - absolutely brilliant! My only slight complaint was that they overcharged the bill by just over a tenner, but we challenged it and they sorted it no probs and apologised. I personally thought the meal itself was amazing, whopping naan bread too. The staff also were very pleasant and we all loved it. Deffo want to return again soon. As regards Dil Raj I can't comment, but know many people who have been and said it's expensive. Curry Mahal however which is nearby has been excellent everytime we've been - but it does get pretty hot in there (although that may be more to do with me having vindaloo at the time! lol)
the naan bread is actually smaller than it used to be, and the prices have doubled, i used to order a lot but im done with that. Probably decent enough to go and have a sit down
just seen you post i basically said the same below, used to order fairly often but when the price suddenly shot up that what was me done with them.
Doubt it will beat jaans... in featherstone for quality of food or price best around by far and its actually owned by 2 blokes from barnsley.
Food is nice at the time... BUT expensive & i had the shits the day after... So did all 3 other people i went with...
RE: Royal Spice Darton...one of the best.. ..especially since they did the place out. Prices stayed the same as well. Usually quite busy but you always get a table. Service is good even when busy. Nice touches like Pappadums to eat with a spicy yoghurt accompaniment whilst you look at the menu (free gratis) Having spent months working in Newcastle with someone who would eat curry every night given the chance and having eaten in just about every Asian restaurant in and around Newcastle the only one to better the Darton one is Jamdani which is in Wickham near Gateshead. (i have also eaten in and around Bradford and Leeds and within the price range RS is one of the if not THE best.
I agree mate. Royal Spice is excellent, their currys just have so much flavour and look like they are made from far more natural ingredients than a lot of other places. I am looking forward to trying Tandoori Hut though, as I like some of the others have also posted, have had take-aways from there which have always been good.
Got to agree with the Jaans recomendation. I tried it last week and its got to be the best food around at the moment. Its still quite new but they have won't have long to wait for full houses at this rate. And yes it is related to Barnsley. Ps if you twist their arm a little they will even drop you off home in there miniibus
