Sad as I am to say it as I think KH has tried really hard. It is time to for a change even if it may be too late to turn things around this season. We need to be ready to try to come right back up if the inevitable happens and for that we need a manager who has a scooby. You absolutely cannot play teams off the park and lose...well you can but not every game. Luck isnt involved. We have had defensive problems for yonks and all we do is sign midfielders..now every team knows they can score against us at set peices. Some one with nous would have made us really hard to beat. We are powder puff, we are en route to league one and I am the most positive reds fan and can usually see the big picture but when the same things keep happening and we dont learn it drives me nuts. Whats that saying? if you keep on doing what you always have you will always get what you've got or summat equally banal Anyway, private hire or black cab...get the taxi booked BT
Thi taxi's been waitin since 5, the bloody meters goin off the scale here. It'll tek most of thi payoff to pay this bill if tha dunt get goin soon. P45 for hill
No need for a taxi - any number of us would drive him to the middle of nowhere and leave him there. For free.
Nope, disagree. Getting rid of the manager for gettin-rid-of-the-manager's sake is not a good strategy. We are all really down at the moment but getting rid of the manager does not solve the problem with the club, the team, the finances or the overall direction of the club in the long-term. If we are to go down then this time I think we should stick with Hill and let him redevelop at League One Level. Its time to stick with a manger in the longer term
I have supported him from the start and although I don't agree with a lot of what he has said and done, I have stil maintained he's the right man for the job. but I am finally beginning to think it may be time to call the man a cab. Especially with SOD getting he chop today. I do actually like The bloke and would love him to turn it around and be successful but I think the loan signing were his last throw of the dice. If come beginning of january when they go back and we are stil in bottom 3, he may need to leave with them
I'm curious that so many seem to think that O'Driscoll is the man for the job, whilst I don't think he's a bad manager his record is not stunning, took Donny up with Dave Penneys hardwork behind them(if I remember rightly)and without Billy Sharp,I think he might well have struggled to keep them up later on,and I don't think his style of passing football would endear itself to quite a few on here.
I actslly dont think our curent squad is too far away from being a comfortable mid table team. Maybe SOD or another manager would play our best players in their correct positions and sort out our obvious weakness. im not gonna start shouting Hill out, but I am starting to get annoyed with our bad defence and lack of width.
I think it's got to the point where there is a bit more to getting rid of him that just getting rid for the sake of it. We are a very easy team to beat and we will go down with a record low points tally if we leave him in charge any longer. I was very pro Hill for a long time but the final nail for me was the Wednesday game. He should have gone that night but he is still here and we are sinking deeper and deeper into the ****. He has turned us into a **** poor side and for that he has to go while there is still a glimmer of hope left. NB. I still think we need change at the top too; the club needs a new owner and a bigger board.
You are right, normally when a manager gets the sack the team are a shambles, with some width and a bit more intent we would be getting more points.
he aint gonna change the way we play, he's too caught up in his own **** and ego to do so, you play to your players strengths - i.e. birmingham are ***** but they got balls into dangerous areas and won.
Maybe Keith is 10 years ahead of the championship with his vision of tippy tappyness, or maybe he is loosing the plot ?
I have been a Hillcroft fan but am also now having doubts. You watch your team and decide who are good and who are bad. You get brainwashed into thinking we are good, when we are *****. All the possession is allowed by the opposing team, because they have also studied the videos available and know we are easy with balls put into goal mouth. They know we run round in circles doing tip tap and just sit back waiting. We do not break out in numbers but sit in middle of park. We are not capable of winning the ball at the back or the front. We only have the ball in the middle and run round in circles. Hill moaned about his budget. Is given money to improve squad, and what did he do with it. Gets four players, Sinclair never been in team, Buszarky crap, Greening is that negative, Tudgay ok. Why did we get Kennedy, why have we still got Edwards, Collins. Where is Rooney, Silva. Where is the big commanding centre half we are sadly lacking. We as supporters on here are not Managers, but if we can see the weaknesses then opposing coaches see even more. We are bottom because we are crap, and if we cannot beat the Wendy's, Birmingham, etc at the bottom, then how are we going to beat the top teams. Lets admit it lads, we are on the way down and I am afraid to admit it Hill is not the man to get us out of the **** he has put us in. Why don't the management go and pay the rate and fetch Billy Davies in. He is a man manager and would get us out of the mire. Our gates and that side of Barnsley is just the same, Rowing should join Hill and depart. Our website and ticketing are worse than the football. Our faithful are still clutching at straws and trying to keep behind the team but deep down they know we are sinking.
Hill is way out of his depth but too big-headed to accept or admit it. Just a few examples of his shortcomings:- # not addressing defensive problems # not playing with wingers # sticking rigidly to posession football when moving ball quicker/forward is key to creating chances # signing quantity rather than quality (he's had money to spend and spent it very badly) # sticking with his favourites for too long (McNulty, Wiseman and now we see Done back in the picture) # not accepting Hassell was and is worth a starting place # media skills are woeful and constantly talks the club down, rather than up # substitutions not making any sense (why not bring on Sinclair yesterday and why oh why take Perkins off) # no leadership qualities, particularly on sideline during games I am sure you guys can also add some valued examples...........I would bring in a proven manager with leadership/fight and give him until end of season with a big bonus % for keeping us in Championship => Billy Davies, Phil Brown ?
It's not a personal thing with KH I actually like the bloke and genuinely thank him for all of his hard work. BUT. We have had a glaring problem for so long now and have had a chance to fix it by bringing in some hairy arsed defenders who know how to defend. Hence this then makes you hard to beat it builds confidence going forward and we could actually be winning games 1-0 and be outta the *****. However like several other managers KH has become fixated with midfielders and forgotton the old Arsenal 1-0 rule of be an arse to beat then go on and win Sad but another manager might just take these players to safety BT
There was. Have you not sen how many player we have on the books? I think it is upwards of 60 players used since Hill came here in 1 1/2 seasons!!!
