All fans want 352. Worried he will start 442. Makes Golbourne, Perkins and Mellis much less effective and too overan in middle

It's a funny one isn't it. You class it as 352 I.e 5 in midfield, but I've always seen it as 5 defenders.

It's a great flexible formation coz you have 5 back on defence and 5 in mid on offence

We can't start too many games with both Perkins and Dawson in midfield I think we've moved on from that pairing.

I do normally, too, I see it as a 5-3-2, but normally I put 3-5-2 when I post on here as that's what people generally say on here

i know flicker talks about flexibility. which is fine mid-game, if we need to respond to their game plan differently. but our stock formation of 3-5-2 is just loads better, with the players we have. for me, 4-4-2 just leaves us flat all over. we don't have natural wingers, leaves us light in midfield, players out of their best positions, balance is all over the place.

    I would go for:

    3-2-3-1-2:

    GK - Steele
    CB - Cranie
    CB - M'Vito
    CB - Nyatanga
    LWB - Golbourne
    RWB - Wiseman
    CM - Perkins
    CM - Dawson
    AP - Mellis
    S - O'Grady
    S - Dagnall

Got a feeling it could be:

    4-4-2

    GK - Steele
    LB - Kennedy
    CB - Cranie
    CB - Nyatanga
    RB - Wiseman
    LM - Golbourne
    CM - Mellis
    CM - Perkins
    RM - Dawson
    S - O'Grady
    S - Dagnall

    personally i think he'll start 3-5-2

steele, cranie, m'voto and nyatanga as back three
goldie and wisey as wing backs
perks, daws and mells in the middle three
    cog and daggers up front

    picks itself, dunnit!?

It was reported that he could play centre-half or left-back when he signed for Sunderland from PSG. If that's true (that he is left-footed), then I would be tempted to play Cranie to the right, M'Vito in the centre, and Nyatanga/Kennedy left.

I think we will start with 442 like the Rotherham game. Will mellis on the right. With Dawson and perks In the middle. I hope we don't but it will happen. Automatically taking mellis straight out the team because he's rubbish on the wing imo

I would go with that KHJ. Don't think Jenno or Nyo are quite up to the levels of the rest of the squad yet.
