We can't play one up front at home against Shrewsbury, can we? Big gamble if he does if we don't win people will be pissed off playing one up top. Play Smith and winnall up top if we get a goal go to a Wilson defend for you lives everyone back formation.

I would be very surprised if not one up front. That is LJs prefered blueprint.

There would be no point in signing Smith and Jackson in that case. None of our strikers are suited to playing up front solo so he has to go with SSW and MS as first choice pair

It's the old issue of Hourihane in CM again! Hard to play 2 up top plus Hourihane, so maybe switch him out for Harris?

I think Crowley out wide is as much of a square peg as Hourihane is

Don't get why everyone is so against one up top and constantly refer to it as a defensive formation.
The majority of the top attacking teams now play with one up top (e.g. Real Madrid) and we have shown that we can play attacking football using this formation (e.g. Everton and Millwall games).
Seen as we have played both well and badly with one up top couldn't it be suggested that the formation isn't entirely to blame?
    Or am I missing something?
Plus we have now signed Smith who seems more suited as a lone striker than our other options.

Plenty of options on the bench to change it around if needs be.

Harris was a real threat at Scunny and I think he will get better as he goes along, so it would be worth persevering with him I think. Hate to see us with no wingers at all

    Wabara Mawson Roberts Smith

    Pearson Scowen

    Harris Crowley Watkins

    Smith

I'd like to see 2 up top personally but don't think it'll be so.

    Are Bree and Williams fit?

LJ said yesterday that we're only without Wilkinson.

Quite comfortable with Wabara or Bree anyway, and if Williams isn't ready then stick Digby ont bench.
