Assuming we stick with the same formation: Davies Roberts Mawson Nyatanga Wabara Smith Scowen Pearson Hourihane Watkins Winnall Subs: Townsend, Bree, Cowgill, Williams, Crowley, Rothwell, Wilkinson Give Bree a rest after 2 games in the last week, unless Wabara isn't ready yet. Hourihane starts - be daft to play loan players ahead of our biggest talent. Watkins needs a goal to set him off.
-------------Davies-------------- Bree--Roberts--Mawson--Nyatanga -------Pearson--Scowen--------- -----------Hourihane------------- Watkins----------------Crowley ------------Winnall-------------
I'd play Crowley before Smith but LJ will play Smith because he is deemed to be a better defender. We'll set up for a 0-0 draw and hope we can nick one. LJ appears to have gone down the Brendan Rodgers school of football which is pretty boring possession with no penetration.
I should hope Smith (a left back) is a better defender than Crowley (an attacking midfielder/winger)! Seems harsh on LJ
Nardiello Agree with Bree probably being rested but has this Wabara had any pre season with any club behind him? Might not be match fit.
Yep. We played a lot better on Saturday when Crowley replaced Smith. The choice is a defensive wing-back who ain't particularly good at defending and is cack going forward or an attacking wing-back who can do a decent job tracking back. I much prefer the attacking variety. Look at Man City with Sterling and Navas out wide far better than Liverpool.
But Crowley didn't play left wing back. He played left wing and Nyatanga went left back. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
