well done our athletes thus far, it could even get better than London 2012 as we have got medals in some events we have never won or even had a look in before. Looking like we will be one of the top 3 teams. but I am hopeful we keep our distance above China and finish second. If we do finish second or even third, when you consider the size of our Isle's then that's no mean feat. one word ... PROUD. :)

Oh and just think if they had events for whinging and Moaning then this board could field the whole team in that.... but I doubt I would get in the team :p

I wonder if tv companies, radio stations and newspapers in other countries are as obsessed with their olympic teams as we appear to be?
It starts early in the morning and it's still the same late into the night. Same headlines, same videos, same interviews.
I've nothing but praise for the athletes but it all tends to get very stale. Oh, and the obsession with the medal table. Wonder if it'd be headlines if we weren't second in the list but bottom?

No course it wouldn't, but our athletes have done brilliantly. And I can't begrudge them their moment in the limelight after all the hard work, sacrifice and dedication that goes into being the best in the world in their chosen field.

    Well done Team GB

The blanket coverage on the BBC (1 and 4) is wearing a bit thin. I'm all for sport on tele but I agree it's over the top and risks going stale. I heard people complaining about the impact that Euro 16 had on the scheduling on the BBC but that was a drop in the ocean by comparison.

NB. This isn't a dig at the success of our Olympians.

Channel 5 are showing blanket coverage of "Celebrity" Big Brother with people so famous their own parents haven't heard of them.

Thank God for the BBC and its Olympic coverage.

Out of every country in the world - and there's a lot of them - we are second. Isn't that worth celebrating?

I completely agree about that Big Brother ***** and other crap like The way is Essex that seems to dominate some channels and given the choice it would be The Olympics every time but I'd prefer some other options.

I buy a TV license once every 4 years to watch the Olympics; I enjoy that the coverage is full on. Yes it's intense but I won't switch my tv on for the other 50 weeks of the year (or at all for the next 3 years) whereas I almost don't switch it off for these two weeks so I think it balances out nicely.

It is for me too but not because of how often it is on. Simply because f it's constant changing channels. One minute its on BBC 1 then because EastEnders is on it switches to BBC 2 then back to 1.

They'd be better off dedicating BBC 2 to the Olympics completely for the duration of the olympics.

I really enjoy watching the Olympics and like jamdrop says it's pretty much the only thing I watch on the BBC apart from the annual Wimbledon, I must watch about 4 hours of Olympics a day. But id much prefer it all in one channel it's almost impossible to keep track when it's bouncing all over the place

Thats one of my only 2 gripes we even missed one of the sprints last night in the Omnium during the switch between BBC1 and 2 at 10pm

The other gripe is too much time is spent talking when there is action taking place - though this is fixable by watching the online streams .
But for 2 weeks every 4 years I really dont see how people can moan about the coverage. I will probably watch more BBC TV during the olympics than the rest of the year put together.

And the above moans aside I think in general the BBC coverage is excellent
