Looking at the team I've gone from excited to distinctly worried. No natural Right back, looks like scowan might play there or Roberts. No Holgate. No strength off the bench in attack and I don't see Watkins as someone to bring on to chase a game. I hope I'm wrong.

Townsend, Digby, Williams, Rothwell, Phenix, Maris, Watkins.

So Scowen right wing back? As I and redarmychris predicted. I feel sorry for Josh, he's going to be this seasons Luke Berry, playing out of position.

This right back situation has been a problem waiting to happen. Lose Smith and same at left back. Maybe it's just me getting edgy. Is the Williams on the bench George or Ryan

George. Which begs the question, why not play him there, you know, with him being a right wing back? And thus leave our best midfielder where he belongs, central midfield.

I still expect us to get a win, mind.

Just what I was worried about, Scowen playing out of position to accomodate others. He's our best player in the middle of the park.

Also can't see Josh being happy and settled playing there for a concerted period

Whilst I, like everyone else, knows that Scowen should be in the middle of the park, because he's the best central midfield player we've had since at least Brian Howard (in my opinion), I am not the least bit concerned with him being at right full back. He has proven in the past that he is not only capable of playing anywhere, but make that position look like it is his natural position. He is that good. I'm concerned that by taking him out of the midfield, we're a little weaker there. But if it's Hourihane alongside Pearson, with Crowley ahead of them, I feel that our midfield 3 should me more than a match for anything Chesterfield have.

We do need more bodies though. I assume Bree is injured. Would liked to have seen Williams given a go at right back.

We have loads of really good midfielder and playing Scowen at right wing back we have have a better player playing there than Williams.

I've no problem with him playing any position, he is that versatile in what he offers, but it's ridiculous that we've not bothered recruiting full backs, and we've all said that all summer long.

I agree re Scowen. He has all the attributes to play RWB. He's quick and fit enough to get up and down. He's had experience playing out wide last season and he has an excellent tackle on him. Probably the best RWB at the club and its not even his best position.
