Steele, McLaughlin (Rose 81), Kennedy, M'voto, Cranie, Etuhu, Dawson, Lawrence (O'Brien 60), Jennings, O'Grady, Pedersen (Proschwitz 60).

    Subs: Turner, Cywka, Mellis, Ramage.

My goodness how poor is that team compared to our starting eleven currently. We should be far better prepared this time even if we are low on championship experience.

With the possible exceptions of Steele & O'Grady, I think we're much stronger now. Not as experienced maybe, but stronger.

Steele and O'Grady would be the only players i'd want back.

No wonder we got relegated, looking at that!

Steele & O'Grady would be starters, I'd like Ramage for backup at CB and experience and O'Brien for games where we need him as a work horse. Then I always had a soft spot for Cywka- the lad could turn it on sometimes! So I'd have him as well. Nobody else there, mind.

I'd have them back as they were then, maybe not now. Apart from Luke, love Luke... :D

God awful team. No heart at all and one of the worst midfield combinations I can remember. Add a shocking defence and we were so reliant on Steele and O'Grady it was untrue.

I think that has to be the worst season we've had in my lifetime. Disastrous recruiting spree in the summer on the whim of a manager who quickly unravelled after his miracle the season before. Over 40 players used and poor Danny hung out to dry with journeymen, hasbeens and problem children dropped into the squad in a vain hope we could have a second miracle come back.

Such a difference to the unity, hunger and togetherness we have at present. I just hope it lasts and we can use it to build.

main problem with that squad other than a lack of quality was their mentality. We had Martin Crainie as captain and he was a bottler. Pederson, Etuhu, Kennedy, Jennings, M'Voto. Dear god! Wouldn't put your house on them coming back from a goal behind...

Only Steele, O'Grady and perhaps if fit McClaughlin were worth a place in a championship team.

I'd have O'Grady or Steele back. Maybe McLaughlin too

Wouldn't have any of them back - including Steele and O'Grady.

Davies is as good as Steele now and has the potential to get better and I wouldn't pick O'Grady before Winnall & Bradshaw. Always thought he was over-rated.

The rest of them wouldn't get anywhere near our current team/squad

He did have some reyt skill in him. That 3rd goal is unreal from winning the ball to scoring

I always fancied him as a fox in the box, playing off O'Grady. I was behind the goal at Charlton and still can't believe he scoored frum theer!! :D

    Dead fish eyes.

If those I would take Steele although Davies isn't far off. I liked o'grady a lot but think he would only make the bench.

There's s player in there somewhere with pederson but again, bench.

None of the others anywhere close. The question is - how did we actually manage to accumulate 40 plus points?! I'm staying positive for this season and see no reason why we can't have a top 10 finish.

    You reds.
