If you were giving the players a team talk, what would you be saying? Mine would be something on the lines of Get the crowd onside from the first minute. Be patient Run at them (because I reckon they'll have 11 behind the ball). Every player be prepared to take a shot. Reckon Hammill might be man marked, which might release Hourihane or others. Win. I reckon the fans will be up for this unless we do something daft early doors, or we are just clueless.
Same as any other game. Play positively trying to win the game from the 1st whistle. Give 100 % effort. Regardless of result one cannot ask for more.
We've discussed tactics in the week. All of you know your jobs today. Feel that crowd outside, play with no fear. (Sniffs once or twice....) What's that smell, boys??? Smell it? Taste it? That's the smell of Wembley. Now get out there, play for this club, those fans, this town. Feel like making history? Let's go!
"there's over 11000 fans out there and you're 180 minutes away from wembley. you've been absolute wnak everytime we've played these. now get out there and don't **** it up again. sithi" any good?
As Hill would say. "Endeavour.. to make me look like a half decent manager". Luckily we have Johnson.. so god knows.
We've not had a successful season in the league, we'll most likely miss out on the playoffs. However this is the competition where you have performed. This might be the only chance you have to get to Wembley in your whole career and it'll be the best chance you'll ever get. It's only the first leg and we need a good lead for the return leg. Get out there and get at them. They're low on confidence and the crowd are behind you. If we get one goal keep going, don't sit on a lead, get another goal. Fleetwood will be strong at home so make home advantage and an 11,000 crowd really count.
This is still my favourite team talk https://youtu.be/HqElC0yBMqU Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
