It's about as good a starting XI as we can muster, notwithstanding the Connell / Nwakali conundrum. I'm full expecting a performance and hopefully a result to go with it.
Quite a few seem disgruntled about Connell being in the side and I don’t get it. Said it before but I’ll say it again, he’s the only midfielder we’ve got that will actually put a tackle in. I will agree he’s not at the same levels that he was under Duff but I think the games this season when he’s been missing tells its own story.
The home game against this lot was probably a rare highlight this season. So we know they’re capable today. I’d have started McCarthy over Roberts and anyone over Humphrys. But with Phillips and Connell back we should (if on our game) have too much for a terrible Rotherham.
It's the sort of team I'd expect Clarke to pick - he likes to go with his most experienced players, irrespective of form. No real pace in the team.
The quality of the recent transfer window in all its glory. We sign 5 players and only 2 of them make the starting 11.
I think this is the team I would have picked. Only possible change would have been Rodrigues for Humphrys but he’ll get 30 mins at least so doesn’t really matter.
