I know the Forest game isn't for a couple of weeks but potentially the team against them barring any injuries is pretty strong to be honest.

I assume the starting XI will look something like this and is an absolute treat in my opinion:

    Pollitt

    Wiseman Ramage Cranie Nyatanga RNL

    Kelvin Perkins

    Dawson

    Pedersen O'Grady

    Bench:
    Steele
    M'Voto
    Kennedy
    Mellis
    Jennings
    Dagnall
    Scotland

I reckon that could be the team. I don't think Flicker will change the midfield 3 or front 2 but it will be interesting to see who he plays across the back. Ramage will be in there, Cranie will be in there but he might want to play Wiseman or Kennedy as the other centre half.

I'd be looking to Mellis instead of Dawson if fit so we have someone creative behind the front 2, that's if we haven't signed someone on loan when that window opens!!

I also think Mellis should be behind the front 2, however I just can't see that happening to be honest. The defence is now starting to look the business.

Me neither Dawson seems to be Flickers "must start" player so he will be in the starting lineup. I dont think the op will be far out with that line up though he may start with Kennedy instead of RNL away from home

As I read it, Ramage played most of last season as a left-sided defender and I would expect him to do the same for us, so that it would be Ramage, or Kennedy completing for that place.

A back three could be Wiseman, M'Voto, Ramage, with Cranie, Kennedy and Nyatanga in reserve; a back four could be Wiseman, M'Voto, Cranie, Ramage, with Kennedy and Nyatanga is reserve. The Ramage deal is a good one - no-nonsense and experienced defender, but not pretty. Just right for us, for sure.

Starting to think the wing backs formation is too predictable

and stifles creativity. Mellis is our most creative player and we need to find a way of getting the best out of him. With Ramage at the back, we might now have an opportunity to move to a back 4, giving more options in front. I'll throw this out there:

    Pollitt

    Wiseman Ramage Cranie Kennedy

    Dawson Etuhu Perkins

    Mellis

    Pedersen O Grady

Subs: any 5 from 20 odd.

I wouldn't be surprised if either Crainie or Nyatanga or possibly even both might not be ready in time.

My fluid formation, swapping twixt 4 and a sweeper

    Polly

Wisey, Craines, Big Jon, Ramo TK

    Daws, Kelv,

    Mells

    Fit bird's bloke, Chris

Wisey and/or TK dropping into midfield as and when.

This is why I'm not involved in pro soccer

Remember we're playing Forest away and a point would be an excellent result. We can't afford to carry Mellis in a game like this on the off chance he creates something. O'Grady and Pedersen are good enough to create chances for themselves or each other.

I'm wondering how Pedersen might play dropping in behind O'Grady in the space between a back four and midfield, chance to get ball to feet, turn and run at em or play someone in (if we could convince any of our midfield to make attacking runs ofc). He has the ability, I think. This system might suit a tricky away day fixture.

That means almost changing the back line in its entirety. I just think that will cause more problems than it will solve. We ought to be making one or two changes at a time. But then again I know nowt.

We've got two weeks to work on bedding new players into the back 5. I don't think completely changing the back line is an issue, particularly when the previous one has been so leaky.

The only thing I'm thinking of is how we get the likes of Jennings and McCourt into the side. We don't seem to play out and out wingers. Unless you play them in the hole behind the 2 strikers but that position is more than filled too. Can see those 2 in particular getting frustrated at not being used.

Will the ref not realise we sneeked an extra 4 players on? And drop wiseman? After his best game in a red shirt?

Four players? Did you not notice the "/"... ?

Wiseman can take a nice comfy cushion, and sit on the bench. He'll be fine - don't worry about him.
