Doesn't matter much any more but: Tin hat on... Collins Brittain Andersen Kitching Vita Gomes Wolfe Styles Bassi Quina Iseka Subs: Walton, Moon, Hondermarck, Marsh, Morris, Adeboyejo, Odour Have said on another thread, we need to try something different, and hold someone back for the second half. Given Morris' struggling with injury, I'd reduce his minutes and see what Iseka can do with Quina and Bassi behind him.
Its not a daft idea - Val always used to keep back either Morris or Dyke to bring on in the second half. Also without Morris we are less likely to score too early and try to hang on to a 1 goal lead for most of the match
I just hope he's available for the game full stop, after playing the full 90 atfer going down injured very early on.
If we are going to play two lines of 5 and engage in attack & defence for most of the game, lets just play 10 who train to do that all week (i.e. defenders). And have a vain hope that one of them gets a rush of blood to the head and goes on a rampaging run to put us one up before returning to his natural position. Collins Brittain Helik (or Ariely if injured) Mads Kitchin Vita Moon Hondermarck Wolfe Halme Oduor 'Ave it.
The issue with Iseka up front is that he won’t work anywhere near as hard as any of our other attackers. It’s a shame really because he seems to have that bit of spark and quality. But until he works harder and shows the level a lot more consistently, he probably won’t make it at this level.
Maybe, but I don't think he's had a run in the team since Wolfe, Bassi and Quina came in. So worth a go. All I know is, if we keep doing what we have been doing, we won't win. We need to figure out a way to finish the game strongly.
It would be good to see him linkup with them I agree. After all, before that he was basically feeding off scraps. Game on Saturday was crying out for either Victor or Iseka to come on and give us some fresh legs/attacking impetus but it didn’t happen. Not sure what exact minute Victor came on but it was far too late to have any sort of impact.
Pretty sure he didn't come on until injury time. I had some sympathy for Poya when we dropped points because the subs he brought on made mistakes. He had a right to expect better from them. But for him to do nothing while Reading got more and more control of the game was just negligent.
