Can't connect to internet on home pc, becacuse there is a fault on the Wireless driver. Says it has been firewalled due to fault. Trying to uninstallreinstall the driver BUT every time I try to uninstall the pc crashes. Trying to download the new driver onto my laptop, but can't get the one I'm looking for ... Realtek 8185 Extensible 802.11b/g Wireless device. 97/ Windows/ Vista. Also got a problem on my laptop which means I can't connect to the internet whilst the laptop is plagged int the mains - it just disconnects. Any ideas on how I can reinstall the wireless driver onto my pc? Bloody technology!
Is the PC close enough to the router to connect it wired? You could at least then use the driver update wizard thingy to try to locate a driver. Failing that try rolling the driver back. Right click your My computer icon, go to properties, then select Device manager. Find the wireless adaptor it the hardware list, right click it and do Properties, then click Roll Back Driver. If a previous, working driver was installed it might find it.
Cheers all Managed to reinstall the driver ... got internet back on, but sound has gone missing & Tv card not working. Still, I was quite impressed I managed to do that much.
