does anyone know where you can buy burglar alarm batteries and if they are easy to fit. we have had a power cut in worsbrough this morning and yes... my alarm was going off for about 40 minutes and all the neighbours were twitching their curtains looking towards my house so i thought i had better call the alarm company and get a new battery fitted the woman said they were already in worsbrough and an engineer would call today at a price of £48 i agreed to this but i think it is an extortionate price to pay just to replace a battery the battery was £13 and £35 call out charge. i was just wondering if you can buy these batteries and if you just open the box and exchange it. many thanks in advance.
at the burglar alarm battery shop is it ordinary batteries or other kind of batteries? perhaps the easiest way is to phone they who sold you the burglar alarm and ask them
it was the alarm company that fitted it a few years back that have just charged me £35 call out charge for about 5 minutes work. looking on some sites it looks like i can get one for about £9 i think the battery is 1.2,2.0 size do you know if you can just open the box and replace the battery or do you have to put some sort of code in ,as you can see i am not very technically minded :$
Here you are !!! I got my replacement battery at Waterhouse Electrical on the estate behind Petagon Toyota garage at Barough Green. They get knackered you know after a number of years. Must admit I thought they would last for ever, being they are never hardly used. Take in the old battery for comparison.
If you remove the case you'll probably set the alarm off again since it will activate the tamper switch. You will probably have to enter an 'engineer' code, which will probably be different from your normal code. If you have the original installation book, it will probably tell you the default code, but the installer may not have left you this, or he may have altered it, so you are reliant on them doing the job
