Take your battery out for a minute or two, make sure your mains power lead is in then try again,

were you using just a battery

not wanting to sound obvious, sorry. If so use a power lead from the mains, just a long shot

    In situations like these...

...I tend to adopt a method of shouting and swearing at the machine, working myself up into a berzerk frenzy at which point the missus leaves the room fearful for my sanity. Out comes the battery... in it goes again. Repeat several times in the hope that magically things will be fixed. Prod inanely at all the keys and shake the equipment violently. Turn back on. No joy? Back to the swearing...

    that works for me

my lap top came on this morning saying it was locked and needed the password to continue. what would that be then cos I can't remember setting it up?

however today i was in calm mode and the simple removal of battery and power cable worked a treat not a f*&$ in sight!
