Watched the 'No Joke Living in Barnsley' 1976 on ITV link. Is there any way this can be put onto DVD to save and view on a DVD player ????
It should be possible. Firstly you will need to download the show. The URL for the actual video file as grabbed from the page source is: mms://ir1-c200.narrowstep.tv/mcp?psid=102258279&ref=0&chid=816&pid=3384&vid=74915303&br=400&tid=8&voids=215072&fab=0 To save it you will need VLC Player - google will find it without problems. Open VLC and choose Open Network Stream from the File menu. Click HTTP/FTP/MMS then copy and paste the above URL into the box. Now check the Stream/Save box. Click settings and check the File box in the Output dialogue, browse for where to save it, choose a filename (ending in .wmv) and then click on Dump Raw Input. Now click OK on the Settings window and OK again on the Open window. Your file should now save. However it is a Windows Media video file which does not play on DVD players, so you then need to convert it. What software do you normally use for putting video onto DVD?
RE: Just watched that video. First thanks for the info. No it seems to be complete when I watched it from the link. Will try your instructions.
thos instructions wont work for me, it keeps bringing up an error when i select ok on thos boxes saying it cant do that or find the file or something off the sorts, any ideas?
Works for me. Make sure you have copied the mms:// link in full. For starters, uncheck Stream/Save and just OK it when you've pasted the link in. See if the video plays OK. If so, stop it and then try the saving bit
well it plays when i paste the link in it just wont save when i do the rest. i get this "Unrecognized format for 'mms://ir1-c200.narrowstep.tv/mcp?psid=102258279&ref=0&chid=816&pid=3384&vid=74915303&br=400&tid=8&voids=215072&fab=0'"
