Technical info wanted

    I know this is the place so..

    Wanting to get a new HD telly and a sky hd box and a ps3 (to play all my games, cd, dvd n blue ray). I intend to keep my 5.1 surround sound as it's pretty good.

    Question is: Will either the telly, hd box or ps3 power the speakers without having to have my current dvd player/sound system attached? (no point in having the dvd player if I've got the ps3)

    You will need the amp that powers the surround sound. For best sound use and optical cable from your sky box and/or PS3 as that's the only way to get true 5.1 out of em.
