Mydaughter's been using a Mac laptop at school all last week because she had a pot on her arm. She's trying to get some work out of the memory stick but she can't open it probably because it was created on a Mac. Any ideas you clever people?</p>

    In fact

try doing File > Open in Microsoft Word? and go find the file instead of just double clicking on the file. Might be an option when you've gone to file open that says something like View All Files, choose that before clicking on the file.

Which Mac software did she use?

Appleworks? Not sure if this will open in Word or not. The answer would be to go back on the Mac and save it as a rtf file or something (I'm assuming it's a document here). But I'm also assuming she no longer has access to the Mac. Er... not much help am I.
