    Does anyone know which is the best program to use for converting avi files to dvd format?

    Unsure of which one to buy.

    Heard mixed reviews about winavi but all the programs seem pretty much the same to me.

    No need to buy one.
    There are some great freeware solutions for this.

    Do a search on Videohelp.com for two tools - QuEnc and AVI2DVD.
    Between these 2 you can make your task an absolute doddle.
