Teckky Help Please...

How do I get rid of WinFixer 2005. Every time I start my computer it starts to install. I don't know what it is, why it's there or how to get rid.
I've tried deleting it off my toolbar but it just keeps coming back!!!!!

Any ideas please?

 

Couple of things you can do.

Try running msconfig by going to Start/Run and type msconfig and then go to Start up. Have a look and see if you can prevent it from starting up by removing it from the list that will appear.

or

Try going into Control Panel and then Add/Remove programmes and see if you can remove it from there.

It's not on the list of programmes to remove

 

same again, it's not on the list in msconfig

 

If you can see something called

UWFX5LP_0001_0614NetInstaller

Then that is Winfix.

From what I can find on the 'net, you need some anti spyware. Have you got any on your PC?

I've got Zone Alarm ??? What is WinFixer anyway?

It appears that WinFixer is a form of Spyware. You need some anti spyware to get shut of it. CityTyke has posted a link in the FAQ Forum on this site which directs you to a good reliable antispyware programme.
