I've been given a memory stick with some serious anti social behaviour on, that I'd like to send to SYP.
The snag is it's in the original .Dav format that it came off the CCTV and is 1.5Gb.
How can I convert it to something that could be sent by email?

Handbrake (free software) can convert .dav files as far as I know

Thanks for that, sorry I should have explained...I managed to convert the .dav file to DivX, but it's still 155 Mb....what I'm looking for is some way of putting it into a format that is small enough to email.

Oh right, That's quite the compression you are after.

Maybe upload it to google drive and share a link for the recipient to download?

Was going to suggest putting the video into Powerpoint and using PPT compression (file / info / compress) but even with its excellent compression ratios I would say it is too big to email.

Google drive or similar, as mentioned, is a good idea.

I believe WYP has an online portal for uploading videos (traffic incidents / operation steerside) but not sure if SYP has similar.

Upload it to YouTube and make it unlisted? That way, only people clicking the link can see/find the video.

Upload it to WeTransfer and send them the download link.

This is the easiest answer. It's how we send files via email. Or AirBridge. Same thing.

Have you looked into the legalities of what you are wanting to do ?? , are you prepared to do a statement , go to court etc !!
Any video you send to the police has to be in its unedited original format accompanied by a statement etc.

I am no expert or owt , i was once going to send some dashcam footage in to the police , then after seeing what i had to do , i discarded the idea.
Heres the link to give you an idea.Just click on the SYP badge.

Thanks for that but it's not going to be used in anyone's prosecution, its purely there to prove to our local inspector what is going off and where it's happening.
