Moving into new house on Thursday and can't decide between the Telewest package (upto 4mb broadband, tv and phone line with free evening and weekend calls) or Sky with BT line and a different Broadband provider.

    Pro's and Con's of both?

    The house currently has Telewest, therefore no BT line. Is that much of a hassle getting one installed? Is it chargable?

    I'm a first time buyer, so know nothing....apparently.

    Depends what you want. Sky is much better for telly but I guess it costs more. My son has just come back from uni and they chose to go with telewest cable cos it was cheaper. He's signed up with Telewest for nine months but then then his house will definately be getting Sky. It's much much qucker and the guide/planner on Sky is tons better - and then there's Sky+ ... end of story.

    I can personally recommend Telewest. One major plus point for Telewest is the fact that the unit is only rented and not bought, ergo, if you have a problem with your equipment, Telewest send someone round to either fix it or replace it for no charge either the same day, or the following day. Very quick. If you have a problem with your Sky box, you have to pay to get it fixed.

    Telewest has most of the best channels that Sky have, even Sky Sports and Movies. If you like interactive Sky Sports features, these dont exist with Telewest, but that is an afterthought to me now. Anything interactive on terrestrial TV you can use.

    Good luck mate.

    Sky = usually better quality
    Telewest = better value.

    Good man.

    You dont get messed around with broadband either. If prices generally come down, they keep the same price but up your speed.

    Also, from your telewest home phone, any problems you have, with ANY of your telewest services, you can call 150 free! They know most stuff Telewest.

    Why not mix and match

    Sky+ for telly - Telewest doesn't come close

    Telewest for phone and broadband

    That's what I do

    Is there a prize for winning the Fantasy NFL????

    I am hoping to make the final.

    Hopefully the Seahawks wont rest Hasselback and Alexander next week though or I am stuffed.

    Yes

    You get the satisfaction of knowing you've beaten everyone else with your knowledge of the game!
