Kid wants a Wii for his birthday. I have no idea about them.

Will they work with any TV (i have a 5 year old 28" TV with scarts and phono inputs which works ok with his PS2)

What are the connectors - scart or 3 phono

Does the senson bar have to balance on the top of the TV (min has a slanted top)

Do i need a memory card, or does it have some internal memory (if so, how many game saves)

Do most games have some physical activity (eg waving the things around) or are some just sitting there pressing buttons like a PS2 controller etc

    thanks

    Eyup thee...

am thinking abart buying a bike agean. First one since 1970. Have passed mi test (back in '69), is it still valid like?
Last bike I had was a Lambretta SX200.... I know, I know it's not a proper bike, but if I buy a fookin Fireblade I'll be in a box in a week.
I need summat more sedate. A bit quicker than a Honda 50 but not summat that Agustini would shoot down the high street on.
Will I get insured an all? I've abart 20 years no claims.

Tip mate, take a refresher course and i'd say get summat like a ER5, your licence will be still valid and insurance wise you should be paying next to nothing.

    mine connected by scart

connectors are 3 phono into a scart adapter

sensor bar can be level with or on top of tv

wii has about 512mb of internal memory for game saves and virtual console downloads, upradable using sd cards

games are a mixture of waving things around and sitting about

    hope that helps a little

    Get both

    I have a PS3 and a Wii.

360and a Wii just as good. Wii is a different type of console to the other two and worth having as well as one of t'others.

    RE: I like wii

It looks a good console. It seems to me that the beauty is in the controller. Surely therefore Sony and Microsoft can create a similar control for their consoles and even the PC. Now I presume Nintendo have done a fair amount of patenting but they can't have covered all angles. I mean, motion sensing technology is around in other forms. It's about time they took notice of Nintendo's innovative approach instead of lazily creating faster, clearer versions of their previous consoles.
