When we won 5-0 at Birmingham on 22 September to move within sight of the play-off zone, with Craig Davies scoring 4 to put him top scorer in the division, who would have thought that we'd be sitting here in January having only won two more games (both away from home in London, where we traditionally don't do very well) and that Davies would only score one more goal for us (ironically away from home at Bolton). We usually have a slump after Christmas, so can we presume the players had their Christmas party 3 months early? Could we arrange if for May next season please?
A fair few on here predicted this at the start of the season. They're gagging for us to go down just so they can say I told you so.
If I'm honest I actually was one of those who wasn't feeling optimistic at the start of the season and I did think this was the season we would finally be relegated but I can honestly say that I'm not in the told you so group and I can't imagine any of us who thought the same would take pleasure at our current plight
With apparent interested parties wanting to take over, Davies being top scorer in the league, beating Birmingham 5-0, possible play off push and injuries coming back, I would have jumped out of my bedroom window onto the main road if I was told everything would change
