Another great front man gone. Great song writer and vocalist. Shocked as another great influence from my youth passes. RIP Terry keep on Night clubbing
Nooo! Born the same year as my husband. We went to see The Specials in Nottingham last year, as guests of Horace the bass player. Great gig. Great front man. Too young. :-(
Shocking news. RIP Terry. A true talent with a social conscience. Suffered terribly in his teenage years. Will be sadly missed.
******* hell fire! You know you are getting on when the people you grew up listening to are copping it. Still, much too young. Only in his 60's.
Feeling a bit sick after the shock I got a few minutes ago when a friend texted me the news. Terry Hall was ace. I’ve got all his albums under his various guises and I like his solo albums even more than his stuff with the Specials. Today started off with some shocking news about a good mate and ends with this. Today can **** off.
My favourite album is https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nlHfRlWB29VEVIMc1Xulm14PqUc_dRPRI Colourfield Give it a listen Rip TH so thankful that I got to listen to his music and have this album for over 30 years.
genuinely feel sick reading this one of a few bands you could still go and see from my best years the mrs was only asking me the other day do you want tickets for the specials or from the jam i said both, obviously.
Sad news. The Specials were a great band and their songs were bang on. Ghost Town is as relevant today as it was in 1981. RIP Terry.
Awful news. I got into the Specials very late but was fortunate enough to see them on one of their come back tours a few year ago - an unbelievable experience. Not only a great front man but a deft society commentator plus his styling was always on point. His post Specials work is just as interesting and his album with Mustaq deserves a call out.
