fed up of hearing them go on about how they would still be in the Prem if it wasn't for the Tevez situation. What about all the other games in. If they'd have beaten Wigan nothing would've been said. Not saying what West Ham did was right either.

    Yes they did ...

...and Scudamore and Dave Richards knew about it from early in the season. That was the time to make a points deduction. Instead they let it ride and take a £5m fine from West Ham at the end of the season to reward their incompetence.

The FA still have to take blame. They sanctioned the move

    Agreed, but....

... Sheff Utd went down for not having gained enough points.

To be fair to Sheff U, McCabe must be applauded for seeing it thru.

    He kept West Ham up

Which when you look at the league table is essentially the same thing.

Surely it must amuse you to hear their fans whinging. All that money won't get them back there ... they still need to spend it wisely, and ... it would be even funnier if they get the money and waste it

So whats gonna stop other clubs claiming that his goals prevented them from being further up the table and therefore less prize money? Also what if his goals stopped a club from getting into Europe??

Methinks this has opened a potential can of worms

Even if you say they'd have played with ten men otherwise.....

....there's still no way of proving that,

would you say the same if we had been relegated?

i can imagine you saying.. its ok... they played an ilegilble player but we didnt get enough points.. fair cop guv !

    like hell...........

west ham cheated twice. once when they signed tevez and mascherano and secondly when they failed to disclose who/how they owend said players.

the only argument they have is if they had played AN Other player instead of tevez would the eventual outcome of the league table been the same ? the courts thought quite clearly not.

i dont care for sheff utd but im glad they will get paid.

    Double standards

Hard to understand how West Ham can get away with no points deduction, when the fielding of an illegal player clearly helped them stay up, when, on the other hand, Luton are deducated a further thirty points even though they are now in new ownership.

I hope that the beautiful game survives this sort of transparent unfairness.

Completely Agree, The reason they had no pooints deduction is Trevor Brooking, i felt sorry for the Blades when this happened, i fullyt imagine had this been a Northern club a point deduction would have been inflicted IMO. When they got the "Fine" they should have banned Tevez from playing for the rest of the season,

3 points deducted per game played would have been fair.......

    What I find sad is...

and for most of us who started watching football in the 60's, is that West Ham were always associated with the good things in football. At that time, they had supplied 3 players who were in the World Cup winning side, had a manager (Ron Greenwood) who was respected throughout the game, and played good football in an era when "cloggers" were the norm (our own Norman no less).

By their actions, the present owners have associated the words "West Ham" and "cheat" forever.

I take your Europe point, but West Ham could olny have taken one place in the bottom 3. Therefore the team at he top of that bottom 3 would have stayed up.

Sheff U finished above the other 2 clubs regardless of WestHam.

However a fairer way I think would have been to take away all the points that were gained wih Teves in the side.

    just had a quick look

West Ham gained about 26 points whilst Teves was in the side. In a large number of those games he scored, often the winner.

You only need to look at the one man show that was V Man U on final day.

I think it's fair to say that without him they would have been bottom of table.

Also think the Prem league should share the costs as they are as much to blame for not sorting it earlier.

    There's a silver lining though...
