...but the 3 coaches have officially joined us.

Hope training starts at half 11.

Everybody stood about in awkward silence waiting for the gaffer.

    When Robins arrives

"Well Brecks what you found out ?"

"Eminem's a bit emotional and the angry bald bloke over there keeps asking what the fck he's done signing for an amateur club. And no fcker seems able to kick the ball into the net."

"Reighto, me car's just there let's fck off"

    Clear out needed.

He's got a job on - people on here say we've got a good squad with 'top quality Championship players'. That's complete B*ll*cks.

Some are half decent - I don't think we have a single player in our team that would walk into any other side in the Championship.

    List to get shut:

    El H - ****
    Oddjob - ****
    Kozluk - getting shitter
Da Silva - not suited to this league. Complete opposite to the type of midfielder we need.

Maybe add Hassell in there as well. JCR needs a kick up the arse 'n all.

Young, hungry lower league British players is the order of the day, IMHO. As long as they're not Gary Jones.

    This is what concerns me

long term regarding BFC - new manager new ideas etc - I cannot see Robins or any manager accepting a job whereby they have to use the existing playing staff without additions.

There's El Hamour, Ode etc who aren't up to it - then there's the one Sodje brother that can't play football, added to those like Kozluk, JCR etc who for whatever reason are in poor form at the mo - who knows, perhaps Robins will get them all going but if we're clearing out to make way for a new first XI then we'll just be repeating the last 3 years.

    Huge backwards step

for god know how long we've been crying out for proven Championship quality, and now suddenly cos we're taking the cheap option and have head hunted a league 2 manager, lower league players are what we want.

I'll give you an example. Reuben Reid. Bar far Rotherhams best player and top scorer last season. Signed for West Brom and after 2 Carling Cup games and a sub appearance, clearly struggling to get a game, soon to be loaned out to whoever will take him.

Dare I mention Steve Parkin. There you go, I have.

so basically the last 3 years have been a waste of time? (i.e. signing players to fill our 11, to just let them go then be back where we started)

    ?

    Lower League players??

We already have those - Hassell, KO, Devaney none of 'em up to Championship standard.

To be fair to the lad..

He's battling for a place at one of the best teams in the division who have good strength in depth. Simon Cox, Roman Bednar, Luke Moore & Graeme Dorrans are the strikers he's competing with, not to mention Ishmael Miller when he comes back.

Just because he's down the pecking order, it doesn't mean he's not good enough for this league.

The foreigners haven't exactly worked, have they?

I backed Davey but his best signings came from lower league or were seen as not good enough for other clubs in this league.

I give you Wolves - some big investments (for Ebanks-Blake see Hume) but the majority of that side came from lower league football or their academy. Jarvis, Kightly, Hennessy, Edwards, Elokobi, Henry, Keogh, Ward, Vokes and Foley all were signed from lower league football and most are now playing weekly in the Premiership.

'Championship quality' doesn't mean they should be playing in the Championship or above. It just means they need to be good players and that's something we're lacking.
