You see more people fecking about with their phones while driving, than ever before. I never answer or pick mine up when driving, if you're caught it should be an automatic ban.

I totally agree that the penalty should be a lot more severe than it is now because I see it happening all the time. In my experience I see more van drivers than any other group on their mobiles or reading frigging maps while they are driving - utter morons.

There's been a major clampdown on it over here under the all-encompassing "Distracted Driver" legislation (in Alberta at any rate). The fine is $550, I believe, for using a cellphone (mobile) while in the driver's seat (even stopped at traffic lights), for applying make-up(!) and for drinking or eating if it is considered a distraction by the police officer, plus a few other things. It seemed to curb the stupid behaviour in the first 6 months, but I've seen it creeping back in again over the past month or so. Maybe the fine should be $1000.........

Or the idiots who cross the road with headphones on and are so busy in their own little world they forget the green cross code and just walk straight out into the road.

First time I drive in California we were overtaken on the 101 going into San Francisco (8 lane highway) by someone eating a melon with cutlery in both hands. I still can't work out how they were steering...

They should give them a 12 month driving ban.

A man having a bowl of soup on the M1 crossing the Tinsley Viaduct, a rep with a clipboard attached to the steering wheel filling in a form and an HGV driver making a phone call whilst going around a roundabout, threppeny bitting and clipping the kerbs are the best I've seen recently.
The best was when I was nearly wiped out going to work on my motorbike, a man crossed straight over a roundabout in his car whilst using an electric razor. he was looking in the vanity mirror as he went through.

Sorry should be Thrupenny bit or Threepenny bit spelt it wrong. Rather than smoothly going around the roundabout he was doing it in straight bits and correcting his line every second or so. Perhaps ten bob bitting would be more up to date.

Travelling 60 miles on the M1 everyday l must see about 10 folk a day texting whilst driving, l couldn't give a **** if they kill themselves l'm more bothered about them hitting some innocent driver or wiping a family out.

I wasn't correcting your spelling mate. I got the idea that you meant sort of jaggedy instead of smooth, but couldn't work out what you meant by it. Got it now though, and it was me being daft, because it was a good description.

I thought they taught it now when you learn to drive - one hand wheel other hand texting while looking down!
