It's getting better going forward, but the defence clearly needs serious work. Long is back from suspension next week so that should help.
I aged about 10 years in the last few minutes. I blame us for singing positive songs (please insert own emoji)
I disagree, to a point. Aidy White should be an improvement on Smith, if we can keep him for long enough. Kevin Long should slot back in next week (either Nyatanga or Mawson to drop out for me) so that will help. Again we need to keep him for longer. That should help shore things up.
You can't put 442 and keeping it tight together. Hammill and White on the left, Wabara and Watkins on the right. All skilled in going forward.
Then you play full backs who do something novel and defend... Too much emphasise on 'attacking full backs' this day and age.
We played 5 at the back earlier in the season and 2 holding midfield players in Scowen and Pearson and we still conceded with individual errors.
Give over. Scowen has spent the majority of this season holding Pearson's hand sitting just in front of the back four. He might LIKE going forward but the fact remains that he has been played as a defensive midfielder
Just thinking the same, but for different reasons, old mate. We've been up to Carlisle to bring Laura back for the Christmas holiday, setting off back just before two o'clock this afternoon. We were stuck for ages on the A66 in thick snow, before the police turned everyone round as the road was blocked near Scotch Corner. Drove back to Penrith and joined the M6 South, down past the two motorways near Bolton, before joining the M62. We got back home just before seven o'clock. Then I find we've won our 'must win game' (according to some) away from home. This is one happy & relieved bunny tonight.
Cheers, buddy. The rain's made a right mess of my hair walking from the car to the back door. I've got split ends on both my hairs!
Hope Laura is enjoying it up there. I was External Examiner there a few years back and the staff always impressed me and the students produced some top class work.
Well, she was up to last weekend, old mate. Laura and her other housemates have let a couple of students stay with them, as their house is one of the many that have suffered flood damage.
