Thanks for the memories, but for a man that lands 2 crosses per season and for a winger, cannot beat a man, hes played far too many games for us. Ive never got on his back, but I was getting sick of his below average performances.
Think he's implying this Whaley kid is gonna replace him... Like I've said I dont think Devaney is consistently upto championship standard. 1 game in 6 he might do something but i doubt very much he'd be a regular for any other championship teams
rye5098 Your correct, Disco hasnt left, just been replaced, Although you watch him go now he has competition for his place, which a positive response is always good to see and good on him if he does, like I say I have never bood him or owt, just think he needs a rocket up his ar*e, generally every 20 seconds!
I think Devaney is brilliant. Whoever this new player is - if there is one - will have to be very good to take his place.
There's no secret mate, it's Simon Whaley http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1445980,00.html
He was diabolical against Bristol City and even worse against Donnie - how the **** did he get that ovation when he went off??
RE: Devaney's been a good player for Barnsley, had his....... Biulding a squad for a strong assault on the top of the Champoinship, depth in the squad, not just numbers.Competition for places comes into mind. Come the end of the season we want to be there or there abouts the top 6. same as Darren Moore said at the supporters meeting ,any teams beatable so there's no reason we can't be
Stronger Together -Reds Flying in the Champoinship.

Complacent yes! but Devaney is still a great player! and key player! I think he needs someone to push him for his place, not a youngster or unknown import (e.g. El Haimour) but someone of similar quality and proven at this level. I feel Whaley is perfect signing and will push Devaney all the way for his shirt. He may also push the strikers. Its does raise the point where does the likes of Mostto, El Haimour etc stand. Only time will tell, sadly I think Mostto will be on his way at xmas having failed to make an impact. As for El Haimour he still has plenty of time to shine, we are only a quarter of the way into the season .
Whenever I've seen him play I'd say he looks like a good professional footballer of Championship quality, and I'm happy for him to be a part of the team.
