The click now have one of their own in and are paying the price for not listening to dannys advice.....oh to be a fly on the corridors of oakwell but then again all the flies are gathering around the 5hit pot.....wait until it hits the fan..... disclaimer......i know nothing this is only my opinion.....based on little snippets or rumours that one as heard. Time will tell but I get the same feel about the place at the minute its wrong and its more than the lads out on the pitch, bold statements like Johnson will be my last appointment when PC seems no closer to leaving makes you feel that its working like an old boys network, with rumours of Mr Ben and Johnsons previous links etc, we've even seen the cliques influences on here with any decent towards PC or Mansford resulting in warnings and threats of bans etc
It was pretty obvious Danny wasn't sacked for footballing reasons. If I remember right we'd just played 3 of the runaway 4 teams at the top of the league away from home & understandably lost, Winnall was about to return & O'Sullivan was about to join. It was the perfect time to sack a manager & justify it with a run of games against weaker opposition with a stronger squad. It'd make perfect sense if its true that Danny got the sack for standing up to them. I still believe he did a reasonable job dealing with the fall out of relegation & how long he had to cope without 5 first choice starters in Winnall, Cranie, Ramage, Bree & Williams. Johnson's had a fully fit squad apart from Williams all season until the last 2 games & wont stop moaning about them. It gets me down. Much prefer Wilson's attitude of 'it's an opportunity for someone else. We've just got to get on with things'.
I can't remember the exact words except for a tiny snippet and I don't know where to find the interview again (so I appreciate that this post is pointless) but I remember in an interview just after he had just been sacked Danny said 'I could have argued the toss with them' about it but then said that there was no point. I thought that was a weird thing to say at the time.
To appease the fans , danny came in got his false promises like the rest then when he dug in and complained they/ He got shut because he wouldnt tow the line
Funnily enough, it's gone the exact opposite way. The sacking of Danny seems to have been the trigger which has finally broken the connection to the club people have had for years and years. We've sacked plenty of managers and people have just rolled with it but Danny was different. There's the sentimental reasons of course, there's the fact that he's a bloody good and experienced manager and then there's the fact that the reason they gave made **** ALL SENSE!!
