you fell upon your own sword. I doubt anyone worked harder than you, your comittment can never be questioned. Its just that you never seemed to learn from your mistakes. You had faith in players that were simply not good enough ala your predeccessor Andy Ritchie. You have left some quality players at this club. had you signed a quality a left back and a centre back, it may have been oh so different. Thank you Simon and good luck for the future.

    I think that you're right ...

I don't doubt for a second that Simon Davey gave the job his all. I think that he worked very very hard, particularly behind the scenes where we probably didn't see enough to appreciate the shifts he put in ...

Having said that his inability to see the blindingly obvious re: the Defence was what cost him dear. It's a shame as I'd have liked to have seen him be sucessful. I got the impression that he really wanted to make a name for himself and I hope he has success wherever he ends up next.

And for whomever gets the managers job next: DEFENCE!!!! WE NEED A LEFT BACK BADLY

Yes..............A VERY VERY SAD DAY FOR BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB

Davey worked his socks off for the club

He has left us with a squad full of talented players that are far far better than the squad that he inherited

Simon Davey has had no luck at all while at Barnsley

All decisions have gone against him

I really feel sorry for the guy

    Sad sad day

Only one positive has come out of today.............the decision was made by Pat Cryne

RE: Yes..............A VERY VERY SAD DAY FOR BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB

If the squad is so much better now than the one he inherited why doesn't the league position back it up? You make it sound like everyone but Simon is to blame for the position we are in.
