Seconded. I'm truly sorry it hasn't worked out and when the dust settles we can still look back at THAT team and THAT period and smile.
Thanks for you efforts Danny and good luck in the future, but My God i'm not sorry to see the back of you! Should have never have returned. It was the wrong appointment but that's the clubs fault not Wilsons.
Same from me too, absolutely love the bloke and shouldn't have been sacked. This spell, although dire, has not tarnished his reputation in my mind whatsoever. What a top bloke, just really really gutted it hasn't worked out. All the best Danny!
Me too. Really angry about this decision. At the beginning of the season when we were named favourites for promotion we all laughed on here and said we'd be happy to avoid going straight through to League Two and that mid-table would be more likely. We've begun recruiting well. Okay, some signings haven't worked out, but it has generally been the more experienced players that have been the let down. But with some of the younger players we've brought in and some of the kids coming through from the Academy we can see signs of planning for the future, which is what we have been wanting for years. This is going to take time. so what next, another manager to start calling on his old mates? Don't we tend to turn to Rochdale for new managers?
Danny Wilson is a top bloke, no question. What he achieved in the late 90's at our club will never, ever be forgotten. However, his second coming has been a disaster. The correct decision has been made but I bear him no grudges and wish him well in the future. Thanks Danny and good luck.
He is a legend for what he did for us 20 years ago. This failed spell does nothing to change that. Still a legend and always will be. We haven't had too many moments/seasons of success, let's not take anything away from the ones we have had.
He is a legend for taking us to the Premier League Agreed That status has been tarnished Sadly by events this time round. It was a terrible error or judgement by the board and Wilson for returning. His days as a successful manager are sadly way behind him and have been for a while. I still wish him well in whatever he pursues in the future.
Yes I agree this time round has been a failure if it is judged as of today, which is has to be as the board haven't allowed him any longer. My comment wasn't based on whether or not it was the right decision for him to come back or to go. It was simply that he is a BFC legend, which he still is.
