What a top servant he's been for our club. Always given his all and from the outside looking in, seems to be an absolute professional and thoroughly top guy. Just look at the good grace with which he took the removal of the captaincy. He leaves some great memories behind, not least the cup run of 2007-08 and his heroics against Liverpool. He's performed admirably this season too and never let us down in all his time in a red shirt. But everything moves on I suppose. He's been on the decline for the last couple of years and hopefully we can get a replacement who can go on to offer the club what Stephen has in the last 6 years. Cheers Fozzie and best of luck for the future.
These are my thoughts; I posted these in another thread and it sums up how I feel. I am absolutely gutted that Fozzy is being let go. A massive player for us over the years, always committed, always gave 100% in a reds shirt, a true Barnsley stalwart and top professional. I would love to have seen him sign for another year but all the best Fozzy, I hope you get something good; you deserve it.
What a great guy - and am disappointed we werent able to offer him a new contract - though not completely surprised - I wish him all the best and hope he finds a new club soon and is a great success there
I'm sad that he's been released at all, Foster has been a wonderful servant to this club and I will miss his presence at the club. The very best of luck to him.
A wholehearted dedicated servant of the club who deserves a testimonial game as a recognition of his efforts will be missed.
As a football fan Steve foster is everything you could wish for in a player, 110% commitment every game and willing to put his body in where it hurts. Steve foster you've been a top guy to play for our club, all the best for the rest of your playing career.
Thanks Fozzie for all the hard work and commitment over the years. Know this... you will be remembered fondly and with respect for many many years to come. Good luck ... very sorry to see you go
Will never forget his goal at Anfield. Always sad to see a player leave who has been with the club for many years. Best wishes to him and his family. And thanks for the memories.
Good luck Foz - get on the blower to Rotherham Ud fit in great down there and should be able to get another promotion under ya belt. Still good enough for the championship imho but looks like flicker wants his own signings in!
Re: Good luck Foz - get on the blower to Rotherham Great Player for the club, Gave everything. How can we ever forget the goal at Anfield. Thanks for the moemories Steve and good luck in the future. I'm sure when you return to Oakwell you'll get the reception you deserve. Of modern times one of my favourite players for sheer desire to keep going. U Redssssssss
I think it says everything that there hasn't been one negative post on this thread.....I like many others liked Fozzie - I wish him well at whatever he does next
Good luck to him, great servant and fantastic memories always gave 100%, honest pro and will leave behind some great memories, his goal at Anfield will go down as one the the best in our recent history. Have been critical of him at times, but you cannot fault his commitment and on his day a solid Championship centre half. Good luck Fozzy, difficult shoes to fill for someone.
A model professional. I don't think we'd have stayed in the Championsip all these years without him. He will be sadly missed. Good luck for the future, no one deserves it more.
