The BBS. Some of you will know that I was working last night, so couldn't make the game. But having had summaries from friends, and a plethora of reports on here, I feel as though I know exactly how we fared last night. So thanks. Your input is greatly appreciated. I am sat now on the train home after a shift where I was pulled to one side by the manager towards the end who thanked me for my hard graft. I have to give some thanks to my football club for that. . I got off the train at 7:40pm last night and boy does it feel bizarre to be walking away from Oakwell. All lit up, last minute stragglers making their way to watch their team. It hurts. Might sound soft but it does. But I'm employed and that is as vital as life gets. So off I walked to Carlton, forever refreshing my phone to keep up to date on the Tarn. By the time I got to work it was half time and we were according to the BBS and twitter etc, the better side. I then switched off my phone and began my shift. . We break for a brew/*** at about 10:30pm and it was an hour earlier when my mate said "lost 1-0 I think" which gutted me. I spent the next 5 minutes not working, but ruminating, wondering, being a dick. When I heard another mate say "O'Grady has equalised, think it's full time." . I ******* bounced into break time. Me and my mate spent the 15 minutes reading reports on his phone and felt uplifted. By a home draw. We talked about morale, momentum and Flicker getting his mojo back. You'd have thought we had won the way the lads were now acting. . You see, it's only a game they say. But it int. It can't be. Because the way those Tarn lads then worked their arses off for the rest of the night was immense. Because they were happy, uplifted, by their team. . And so as soon as I left work I logged on here, and read the many threads summarising the match. I thank the lot of you for that. Gave me a clear idea of what went off. And what went off appears to have been what we had all asked for - an attempt to win. The posts were reminiscent of last season. I do not though, include one or two of you. Who either decided to be a WUM, or attempted to get a rise. You are not welcome here. Same goes for the one who started a thread having a pop at those who didn't attend the game. . I'll be at Oakwell for the next two home games. I can't wait. But will have to. Bloody internationals (Norway can **** off from selecting Marcus). . I'm nearly home. And I will end by suggesting that once we get back from that bloody break, we might see our season begin to take a more positive shape. You Reds.
My brother also had to work sounds like you do similar jobs though luckily for him he works out near Wath so he wasn't taunted by the sight of Oakwell at least. A massive improvement picking something like our strongest team and playing in a skilful dynamic style to actually dictate the pace and try to win the game. We just need to carry this forward now start with a settled side going forward and see what happens.. Whatever results are if we play in that manner there will be no calls for Flitcroft to go.
Good stuff Whitey. We've had a poor start by everyone's standards. Some are getting frustrated, some are panicking and some are just being a bit silly. Last night I think (I hope) we saw a chink of light. Kind of similar to the Leeds game, in so far as something seemed to click, and unite the players and the stands. It's only one performance, and there's still a LOT of improvements to make. But it was something good to build on. Keep grafting fella, you deserve to enjoy your footy
Cheers, mate. Just wish that international break would **** off. Can't wait for the Boro game, for various reasons.
