It's just been on for about the 4th time now on Sky Sports news. And I'm more amazed the more I see it. 2 freeze frames here. The first shows brittain correctly covering 2 players as he had no choice. One eye on the player with the ball, one eye on the player overlapping. You can see Helik steaming in from the right. Charging towards the player with the ball. The next freeze frame, correctly shows brittain beginning to cover the overlapper, as Helik was here to take over steaming in and get stuck in to the player with the ball. For some absolutely unknown reason, Helik slows down, hesitates or stops, and the gap opens up, and bang. In the net it goes. What the actual chuff was Helik doing? He had no other player to deal with. Charge straight at him, and you stop the shot. It's absolutely school boy stuff, and absolutely cannot be defended in any way shape of form. Helik, you've been a revelation since being here, but christ, that was utterly ****, mate
He’s our one saleable asset….supposedly. Maybe he’s already got a move lined up. Would explain a lot.
Interesting analysis, because I think most people watching in real time would have blamed Brittain for backing off.
It was actually a great feint by the Swansea player body shape eyes etc He fooled everyone including the goalkeeper ,me !! that he was going to slide the ball down to the left on to the runner. everyone veered and set themselves to defend the left hand side overlap and the resulting shot or cross from that move including the goalie ,the gap opened up and he swivelled and drilled it in great goal.
Not denying that the Swansea player made a great feign and shot. Brittain in my view can be kept out of it. Covering 2 players. His only mistake was probably thinking Helik would do his job. He just didn't. Had brittain gone to the player with the ball, whilst Helik was steaming in, the ball then went wide, then cross and bang/goal. He would have been torn a new one for it. I think Callum did everything right on this
Helik is massively overrated. No better than the rest of the useless lot and wouldn't get in other championship sides. He doesn't concentrate at all which is a key part of being a defender
It was more dreadful defending from Helik. Not great keeping from Collins either, but he’s allowed a few poor pieces of keeping given the season he’s had. If Helik had only joined this summer, and we judged him solely on this season, there would be many calls for him to be dropped.
