Quite a controversy that's caused again - first the dodgy marking 4 years ago and then this. Agreed she did well to get back up and compete again but how the **** you can get a medal when you've fallen over?!
I thought it was part of same event. Just proves one thing - you can't have a sport where you need judges to award points in order to determine who won....it's far too subjective.
RE: It was the same event.Yes My profound apologies . Blame it on my age, ar lass does blames everything on that.
Thats nothing to do with being subjective Whilst I agree with your general comment the rules say that you get docked 1 point for falling over + obviously no points for the manouver that wasnt done sucessfully. However now if you do difficult things and do them well you get lots more points than not so difficult. Their skating was outstanding and they picked up enough points to finish in second place. Its valid as the scoring is currently set I dont see a problem one of the cross country skiiers fell at the start but picked himself up and managed to catch everyone and finish second - whats the difference
