    FFS!

Give the guy a chance! Probably not match fit yet. Obviously has some fitness but he's not played a first team game for anyone this season - and especially with new teammates he has to settle in first.

    personally he impressed me

He looked unfit but he wasnt scared to cross the ball (which he did well) and was creative going forwards. He linked up quite well with mcphail and hayes and it gives us a new dimension to our play. We can now attack on both wings, plus it gives shuker some competition as he plays on the right too.

He also did his share of tracking back, made 2 important clearances in second half.

Only faults I had with him
    1) Not match fit - couldn't sustain the workrate above an hour.
    2) Seems very right footed. For a man who can play on both wings, the two crosses he actually hit with his left foot were both very poor.

If anything happens to Williams, we will end up with Austin as left back and Devaney at left wing - both heavily right-footed players.  I'm not sure I like the sound of this.

I'm glad someone else thinks so, because reading all this criticism made me think that I was watching a different game! I think that he looks a useful player, who can only improve with match fitness. He certainly wasn't as bad as some people are suggesting! Welcome to the 'Well, Martin and here's to a successful future with the Reds.

    Give the lad a chance

He's only played for 60 mins. He's obviously not match fit yet. (banghead)

    I thought

He looked like a useful player too. Clearly not match fit but I thought he did quite well - gave us a bit of width and got some reasonable crosses in.

By just watching him today i would say he is more of a right sided player he looked far more comfortable there in the second half

It was the referee who was getting booed, not the Barnsley players

Well you've just slagged off a player who only signed late this week, who isn't yet up to match speed, and has new team-mates!

Talk about pot calling the kettle black.

I reacon he'll turn into a very good signing, used the ball very well and moved into space always wanting the ball.

I think it was very unfair on the lad to chuck him in at the deep end, after only two days at the club. He hasn't had time to get to know the players or the way they play or anything yet. Despite all that he did his best and at least made an effort. Maybe we will be better able to judge how good he is or will be after he has had a couple more weeks with us. To do so now, is just not on.

Well done 'red' - you've just summed up precisely...

... the problem with the fans.

Did you make this succinct appraisal actually during the game or whilst the team was warming up?
