Joe Pasquale needs to raise his game!

Seriously he was at the Christ the Redemer statue and asked someone to take his photo,he stood on the stairs and floated about 5 foot in the air.No idea how he did it. Dynamo that is,not Joe Pasquale.

He's not too bad but then again anybody copying other famous magicians' tricks should be ok too. Afterall they only have to stick youtube on to watch how somebody else does it and copy it.

Some of his attempts at copying other peoples tricks though have been piss poor at best and frankly laughable at worst. I remember one where he walked through a plate glass window. Amazing...astounding...***** even in editing they didn't bother to take out the wide open doorway right next to the window which was easily accessible by anyone walking around behind the screen put up for him. At least when Chris Angel does it you can't see a giant open door.

chris angel carries off the walking on water trick much better too. David Blaine does the levitating trick better. Penn and teller do the card tricks better etc. He's a wannabe, and not even a very good one.

Come up with an original trick and i'll be impressed, until then all he is is an amateur magician who, if it wasnt for somehow getting a lucky break, would be impressing his friends in the pub with his latest trick.

    Bah humbug

I think there was a little bit more to the illusion than just walking through an open door. Don't you think the reaction of the people watching from both sides would have given away their disappointment.

Obviously it is speed of hand, camera trickery and having his people set up in certain places to put it all together to pull it off but so what? I find him good to watch.

Thats why most magicians pay people to be in on the act. They call them stooges. Some of the most famous televised tricks are done due to having stooges at the live taping.

Some tricks involve instant stooges where the person isn't actually in on it originally but is let in on the secret by the magician at some point throughout the routine and is then somehow convinced to play along.

I believe that the dynamo walking through the window trick was done using stooges on the outside and idiots on the inside. Those outside were clearly in on it as there was no screen outside the window so one of two things MUST have happened. A. They were in on it and showed fake surprise or B. Dynamo did what NO other magician has ever done and that is to walk through a window without ANY cover at all, in plain view of all those outside. And if he was capable of doing that then why did he use a screen to the camera? His trick would have been much better without it yet he used it. He used it for a reason and that was to hide what was really happening. yet he didnt bother to hide the same thing from those outside. Reason? They were stooges.

I agree completely. I used to love watching some of Derren Browns shows, but once you start thinking 'hang on a second, they're probably just a stooge and not a random member of the audience', it loses the magic. Pun very much intended.
