That first half 'display' tonight was a complete and utter disgrace

Leon on the wing and Campbell Ryce playing as a fecking sweeper? I've seen some bizarre things at Oakwell in my time but this just about clinches it.

I lost count of the number of times he was the NEAREST player to Muller and our own goal.

He is a WINGER - his strengths are dribbling and to an extent shooting, not attempting to spray 60 yard balls around.

As for the crossing, I've seen a thousand people who know how to cross a ball, but the only player tonight who put in a decent cross was Bogdanovic, and surprise sur-fecking-prise there was no-one in the box because no-one could be fecking bothered.

The first 10 minutes of the second half just went to show what COULD be done, but if the players need a rocket up their ar$e to bother playing half of them should bloody well leave.

Everyone bar Bogdanovic and possibly JCR (for his effort) was awful, but Van Homoet stole the show with a truly abysmal display, surely the worst of his career.

Going off at half time I feared what Boggy thought he'd got himself into. Can he play at this level? More a case of whether the rest of them can play at his level.

Oh, and if anyone can remind me of a single tackle made by one of our players in the first half, please remind me. Possibly one good block by Moore?

We're down if we keep playing like that.

    End of story.

Leon often seems to be the scapegoat though

Might make sense to play him in his correct position.

Leon started off in the centre with Campbell-Ryce on the wing

But we were so overrun in midfield that Davey changed it after we went 2 down. What Davey should have done was take Leon off straight away but he bottled it. As for using Campbell-Ryce as defensive holding midfielder - barking.

    Yep...JCR is a winger

We used to rip teams to shreds with JCR on 1 wing and Disco on the other.
Just had nobody to pop the ball into the onion bag though!

    I have to agree

It was obvious after 15 minutes that midfield was completely ineffective. Butterfield should have been on, and we should have switched to 4-4-2 and let JCR play down the wing.

I can forgive a manager for making a mistake once, or even twice. But how many times are we going to play this system which is obviously not working! It appears SD wants JCR to be the new Brian Howard. But that is not his strength, and one of our most effective players is not doing what he does best.

That first half display reminded me of the season in administration under Hodges.

Bogdanovic is a finsher says davey - so i know ill play him on the wing

kept pushing him ot wide. wan.k
JCR threat is nullified when not on the wing - mayve its a ploy by davey to keep him till after jan?
we missed Colace - could link up well with Bogdanovic
Da Silva - lost 2 yards of pace since his injury
van homoet - wa.nk - caused the second goal from losing the ball again from dilly dallying - did this right from the off
hassel - did he win a header all night?
muller - time to give steel a game to get muller sharp and have competition
    leon - woeful
butterfield - ok but still too wet behind the ears and no pace - needs experience
disco - not too bad for 1st game back from injury
macken - do not rate him at all - never have while hes been here
    missing foster as well.

comment on the night from behind me - Souza runs like a dog on a frozzen pond! lol

thats 3 performances on the bounce where the players have not looked bothered. Something aint right at the moment. I think we have too many imports in the side now and its causing problems. Not playing as a unit.

When did he play on the wing?

He went out to the wing a few times, to help Devaney, but you can't say he was playing there.

'Owt for a pop at Davey.

    Muller??

If it hadn't been for Muller we could have easily been 4 or 5 down at half time.

I thought the opposite tbh. With JCR playing deeper I though De Silva would be bombing on into the box but everytime we put a cross in he wasn't there.

Anderson is at his best tidying up behind a creative midfielder - tracking back, getting a foot in etc. An attacking midfielder he aint. Too ponderous and no clue in the final third.

I agree with you mate but with JCR playing deep you would have expected ADS to be the attacking one.

    Cerap tactics from Davey though.

JCR had plenty of crossing opportunities, but didn't take them

Despite (allegedly) playing "sweeper", he did get forward quite a bit.

    Defensive Holding Midfielder???

He wasn't as far forward as that. As the alleged BBS brown nose it's not often I criticise anybody on here, but JCR's position last night is described perfectly by your word "barking". The only circumstances I could understand it would be if we were 1-0 against Real Madrid with 5 minutes to go. Absolutely incomprehensible.
