Was it a pen? Wasn't sure from where I was sat, thought he got the ball. Sliding about in that position is asking for trouble though.
RE: yes it was, no need to challenge like that though That Campbell kid has got the better of Souza both games this season. Souza lacks pace.
definete pen Got nowhere near the ball which shows just how stupid the lunge was because neither he nor the hull player were ever going to get to it before it went out of play.
I've seen much worse refs this season Definite penalty Lucky he didnt give another one for Fosters body check - though it was just outside the box Kept his cards in his pocket - I watched the game with Hull fans and think the number of decisions we thought he got wrong was about even
Can you remember who it was against that he did a lunge in front of the away stand? East stand side, he gave a penalty away then when there was absolutly no need to dive in.
Souza has looked suspect in both games again em and yet when you see him live (so to speak) he looks in control, certainly at hull he was well off the pace and lucky not to get sent off for elbows, Campbell just too tricky for him certainly
Only 2 possible cards in my opinion One on foster for body check when Folan was through - definite yellow could even have argued red - though that would have been harsh Yellow card for the guy who put his hand in Leons Face - definitely seen a lot worse
I Thought The Ref Did A Splendid Job Not card happy and didn't bottle giving them a deserved penalty. He was maybe a little too soft at times, but for his young years, he showed himself to be better than most of the refs we have twice his age.
Disagree There were at least two tackles straight through the back of JCR in the first half, I think by the same player. Booking every time. HAving said that it was refreshing not to see cards dished out all the time.
Sorry I couldn't disagree more and I'm not even going to bring the pen into the equation. The ref allowed Hull to continuously unfairly disrupt our game in the first half. Just because they weren't nasty fouls, the were however frequent, and by the same player on numerous occasions. The law says that players who persist should be cautioned, and if they continue should get a second yellow. Then there's the punch by Dawson on Leon, which the Linesman and ref chose to ignore. I reffed in local football for 15 years and I certainly didn't get influenced, hoodwinked, conned, old-manned like these so called top refs do. I certainly didn't put up with players in my face all the game like he did tonight The referring standards are diabolical, and the ref tonight was sh't.
two from behind on JCR KO for diving or their player for elbowing him. Foster Keeper for time wasting Foul on kozluk early on pulling shirt's 6 or 7 could have been booked
