Penalised Davies once in the first half for thinking about making a challenge, but deciding against it; and then once in the second half for standing still whilst the keeper dropped the ball.

Couldn't believe that one in second half when he gave it against Davies for standing still whilst their keeper made a complete arse of trying to grab it above his head

Thought about those myself, was going to post about the ref until I remembered about the boro stonewall pen in the 1st half and probable hand ball pen by Davies in the 2nd half.

It did look like a penalty in the first half.

I thought they could have had 2 penalties. One for a foul by Mellis after he mis-controlled a pass early on, and one for a handball by Davies in the 2nd half.

The one have gave when the keeper dropped the ball was just beyond belief, it can't even be classed as a mistake. I haven't got the faintest idea what he saw to blow for a foul.

If we are talking penalties there was a handball in the first half in the boro box more blatant than the one that hit Davies, and also in the 2nd half Harewood was hauled down in their box so on balance I dont think either side benefited

He could certainly have carded more boro players than he did - The foul that Davies committed on Steele because he didnt get out of his way was hilarious, and also there was a completely bizarre offside given against Davis second half when he was off when orginal ball played but didnt interfere, defender clears ball and Davies moves back to onside position, ball then passed to davies and given offside - I can only assume for the original offence.

That said we will have worse refs this season thats certain

Come on though, the Mellis foul was blatant in the 1st half

It wasnt obvious from the West Stand where I was sitting - I know the incident you mean but didnt see it well enough to have an opinion ( I know I sound like Wenger with that comment but I really didnt) I did think Harewood being hauled down in the box was fairly blatant as well

The offside decision you are talking about was Harewood rather than Davies, but it was crazy nonetheless.

Although I have to say that Harewood wasn't hauled down for a penalty shout in the second half, but rather dived just outside the box after he knocked the ball slightly too far.

The ref did seem intent on giving them a goal at the end though. And the worst decision he made all match was not even booking the lad that took Done out. It was like a flashback to the seventies and letting them have a free one. Perkins got booked for not giving them the ball back, whereas their lad blatantly took Done out and got away with it.

And when Dawson came on it was a matter of time before he picked up a yellow. They could use robots instead of some of the officials we get at Oakwell because they are that predictable.

Now open the other eye. We got away with a couple of very debatable penalty decisions.
