That went all the way in without touching anyone,
obviously no goal, yet a tad unlucky it didn't clip anyone

That in mind, going way way back in time, didn't one of our lads score from a throw in.
I can recall it use to be a quiz question, who's the only player to score from a throw in
but for the life of me can't remember the answer age thing lol
I Googled it, but Google said there's no record in our historical records which I found strange..
For some reason Eric Brookes pops into my mind but I think it was way before him
    Any ideas folks

Remember us conceding that one against Huddersfield in 96/97 didn't touch anyone but goal was given

It was Frank Bokas, some decades ago. Keeper got a touch so it counted. Will check my books and provide further information.

Having gone through the list of all players i seem think it was Frank Bokas who took the throw in and it clipped the keeper so was allowed to stand.

FA Cup Fourth Round January 1938. The opposition: Manchester United. And no, Onana wasn’t in goal that day.

It definitely was Frank Bokas. Before my time but I remember reading that he threw it from near the dugouts all the way to the goal line and the keeper fumbled it in:)

    Cheers Lone Striker
Whilst watching the game from the comfort of my armchair lol the sky commentator spoke about it being no goal. but failed to mention weve actually scored from a throw in ( no doubt he didnt know lol) mean while I'm saying to the wife brookus brookus before saying no that's not right it wasn't Eric Brookes, so I wasn't far off lol
    Thanks for the reply

Tom Cowans took the throw in and Dave Watson stupidly let it go in when he could have just caught it. Didn't touch it though so the ref made a mistake. Still remember Cowans laughing on the replay.

Didn’t Bokas throw it one handed? And after that the rules were changed?
