We were poor with the ball for 80 minutes but it went either way, we worked our ballacks off and got rewarded. We looked poor when we tried changing system and we didn't pass it well enough. Both sides will be disappointed with all of the goals and theirs came from Steele not coming to claim a through ball and then a centre half being able to walk through our midfield. But then we went back to 352. We brought O'Grady and Scotland on and we were a different side. We looked dangerous going forward and O'Grady was unbelievable. He reminds me of myself with the upper body physique. Special mention to Golbourne today. Got up and down amazingly well - just wish he had some confidence to take a shot rather than going square all the time but he did really well. Hope Flitcroft sticks with the system that's been working next week. You reds.
I thought we were best side in first half with Kennedy pushed forward into CM. 2nd half for some reason we let their defenders run with ball too often and it caused us problems. Once Flicker changed it though we did get a proper grip on the game. Scotland and O'Grady came on and both had really good games. Agree we should stick with what's been working though. Nice to know we can change it a bit though.
Thought we were f@cked when we went 2-1 behind. We were very poor second half up to substitutions. Credit to Flitcroft and the players. Battled hard. Wouldn't have happened before new year.
Could the phrase I hated to hear as a kid be returning? Battling Barnsley. It'll do for me now though.
I do now! Used to think journalists did us a disservice when we had a good win using it. But we've been missing the battling qualities for so long, I started to miss the phrase.
We weren't great but we came in 1-0 and had other chances. They didn't really look like scoring. It was very low on quality in that 1st half though.
